Internet Download manager One of My Favorites . I liked this tool because whatever you want to download from internet this tool will make your download easy.

Its has a lot more features few of them are
Divides the single download file into multiple downloads that help speedy download
Download resume capability
Video download from the YouTube
IDM supports browsers like Google Chrome , Apple safari , Internet Explorer , Mozilla Firefox , Opera , Mozilla , Netscape 6 or later

What I think , the software has loop hole/security breach and people use it to register idm for free for example

 1. First you need to download the file
2. Disconnect Internet in your system.
3. Install Internet Download Manager.
4. Follow the Path
                "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc"
5. Right click on the file "Hosts".

 6. Go to Properties > Security > Advanced > Owner > Administrators > Apply > ok.

 7. Again Right click on the file "Hosts"
8. Go to Properties > Security > Advanced > Edit Allow & then ok
9. Now open the file with notepad 

 10. Add these lines at the end of the host file and save the file

127.0.0.1       localhost
127.0.0.1tonec.com
127.0.0.1 www.tonec.com
127.0.0.1 registeridm.com
127.0.0.1 www.registeridm.com
127.0.0.1 secure.registeridm.com
127.0.0.1 internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1 www.internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1 secure.internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1 mirror.internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1 mirror2.internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1 mirror3.internetdownloadmanager.com

11. Now if software ask for the serial key use these

                                               "OP3BQ-I5EAR-UN52H-VR7QX
                                7TSFG-YWZ5O-YWLSB-89N41"

    IDM is really good.

    now it is asking for registration. Could you suggest how to continue using it in case if the user does not want to register?

    Thanks for the update. I tried following the steps.

    In Step 6 below:
    6. Go to Properties > Security > Advanced > Owner > Administrators > Apply > ok.

    When i right click on hosts, i am unable to select the allow option for the administrator.

    Hence I am not able to get the "Edit allow" option in step 8 also and proceed after that step.

    Please suggest how to go abt it.

    Hi Abhi,

    Thanks again for your help.

    I followed the video and saved the revised host file. Also entered the serial key. IDM is installed now but I am not getting the IDM download tab to download videos etc on any web page.

    Could you pls guide one more time.

      There could be any reason but if you are able to open the IDM normally(without asking username and key) follow these steps

      1) Open the IDM
      2) you will see gears icon(OPTIONS)
      3) Make sure Google chrome is checked then click on ok

      please let me know if thats works
